Let's start collecting some values and infos this early.

Celje X2 seems a value at first sight, after they showed a good game and
Interblock showed they have difficulties scoring, plus Celje will have a better
team than Nafta had.

Primorje at home has nice odds, but Drava needs to collect the lost points too...

Maribor - Gorica is the best game in this round and after the away win the
stadium will be pretty full imo. I'd give some credit to the home side maybe
at odds over 2.00.

Nafta @1.40 is never a value and now that they'll have the 3 new players
available and at home, they're certainly to be favoured, but not that much imo.

Domzale will be back from Albania and it depends also how their trip will
finish...

Interblock - Celje +0.5 @1.83 Pinnacle

Was worth waiting for the Pinnacle odds here imo.

Celje played a decent game vs Primorje and the key players did their job
well. Pecnik, Gobec, Bersnjak, Seslar and I say even Rusic, who was circled
by 2-3 defenders each time he was near the ball. I'm sure Rusic will alredy
have more space tomorrow, as Interblock will be headed much more forward
than Primorje was.
Celje showed an attacking introductory game and they controlled it almost
for all the game.

Interblock won vs Nafta from a penalty in added time showing some different
"faces" during the game. The first part was "lost" and the second a bit more
daring and attacking, but then there was also Nafta, who weakened as they
were, wanted to take a point also by playing a tough defence in the second
half (they almost succeeded).

Interblock has some great individuals as I stated many times, but as it was
seen vs Nafta they were nothing but that, except the 2 actions where Rakovic
and Jolic
managed a double pass.

Celje showed they are a threat with their coach Pinni playing any team away.
Last season (April, May) they collected points towards the number 1 and 2
away (won 3-1 in Gorica, drew 0-0 in Domzale) and were the best away team
next to Domzale.
This game should be graded as even imo and therefore I see a great value
in taking Celje not to lose this game, even if I see chances for them to
win the (still) "individuals" of Interblock.

Nafta - Livar

I still have the feeling the odds @1.40 or the 1.25 handy on Nafta are unjustified.
They don't deserve lower than 1.60-ish. With the current mess around the
team, where "former" players are returning (Eterovic, Kulcar) and papers
for the new players have not all arrived yet (Ortiz), plus the favourite role...
I'm sure everyone will be happy with a narrow win tomorrow (if a win).

Livar lost their opener 0-2 and as it seemed they were quite under pressure
and defending. But then reports from the game as well as the short TV summary
showed they had some 4-5 fair chances, but couldn't use any. Koper with
their young team was making the game, but Livar wasn't that shy at all imo.
Coach Vrscaj saw the weak positions and situations and he's promising a
better game by his team in Lendava (Nafta).
Despite the fact Livar keeper Savic can be (partly) blamed for the 1st goal
(clumsy handling the ball out of the box) he's a great keeper and Livar's defence
with him between the bars looks much better.

With Nafta concentrating on the attack and leaving holes for the Livar attackers
I can easily imagine Livar to score their first premiership goal.

I won't (of course) be too sad if Nafta wins it in a high win, but honestly there's
imo little chance for that to happen. I will only go for a value bet in this game
and even that with a little stake.

I see a tough fight tomorrow and a narrow Nafta win at the end. Therefore
I'm going for the win by 1.
Result: 2-1

Maribor - Gorica

I don't like to jump from one extreme to the other and certainly not from
giving value to one team on one game to name them the title contenders
on the next one.

I saw a good bet on Maribor the last round as the spot was simply great for that.
P*ssed off fans and a mad coach plus the demanding management (with
Zahovic as the new sports manager) were simply a masive motivation factor.
I believe the Maribor players will want to continue the determined way of
playing they showed in Ptuj (3-1 vs Drava) and now they'll again have the whole
stadium as a backup.

Gorica after being beaten mainly by themselves in the UEFA Q vs Rabotnicki (1-2)
showed a tougher game vs somewhat weakened Domzale (1-1) and now
wanting to prove they can stand a pressure of a filled stadium and get a
positive result before going to Macedonia.
By positive I'm referring to a draw of course as I'm sure they can't be that
confident as to go for a win in this situation.
I'm sure Milanic (coach) would want his players to fully concentrate on this
game, but then they'll at least a bit be in their minds in Macedonia already.

I see a concentrated and determined Maribor who will be marching the whole
90 minutes playing the first championship game of the season and they'll
certainly want to give a warm welcome to their new sportsmanager ZZ.

Gorica managed to draw vs Domzale and tomorrow I see them mainly playing
on counters. That's not an easy one for them as with "oldies" like Kovacevic,
Demirovic, Osterc
... speed won't be their advantage, even if they have
the youngster Velikonja.

Considering all the facts Maribor should be favoured, but as Gorica is still
no pushover I see best value in not risking too much and taking the offered
-0.25 on the home team.

Maribor -.25 @1.73 6u Pinnacle

He'll be getting the biggest applause (Zlatko Zahovic):

Domzale - Koper

All in yellow show number 2 and the favourites are again the same.
The supercup 2 weeks ago ended 2-1 and maybe that's very close to the
today's result. I'd easily go with Domzale (again) -1.25, but the situation atm
is a bit more complicated as to take that.

Domzale returned from Albania in the late Thursday hours and had regeneration
exercises. They were (are) exhausted and having in mind the fact they have
the "game of the year" at their stadium, vs Dinamo CLQ on Wednesday.
With the very good attacker Zezelj (former Panionios and Primorje)
signing on Friday, they gained another (necessary) forward and another
quality for the both battle fields.
I'm not sure about his shape atm, but there's a good chance imo we see him
already today as there's a need to replace Juninho, who got injured in Tirana.
Domzale need a win for the new championship start at home, even more so
after they "only" took a point in Gorica in the 1st round.

Koper fighting on two battlefields as well, with the exception they had a free
midweek and they have one more day off for the next Euro game.
They have some injury worries though, maybe also some resting for 1 or 2
key players infront of the UEFA game (called injuries) and summing up I
don't see much chance for them to take anything from Domzale tonight.

Although I don't see a highly motivated Domzale part here I'm sure they'll
be going for the three points and finally succeeding even if maybe in
another narrow matter.

In this case I'm taking the offered straight win instead of the Asian.

Good stuff. Your input is appreciated on leagues like this.

Maribor fought back after an early deficit. Nafta was never in doubt.

Keep up the good work.:103631605

Primorje - Drava

When the two losers of the first round meet...
Primorje vs Drava, Prasnikar vs Besek... Home team vs away team...
These are imo the most important things about this game.

Especially Drava disappointed playing at home and being behind 0-3 at the
HT. But then it was really more about Maribor there, who needed this win
badly.
Primorje travelled to Celje and were close to earning a point, but lost in the
dying moments of the game.

Primorje coach Prasnikar is determined to win this game and he saw a certain
progress in their game when they won 5-0 in a midweek friendly. He said he liked best the
way they created many chances...

Drava again will have to cope without their star forward Kronaveter, who's
out injured and taking a treatment in Milano (AC Milan wants him as it seems).
Drava showed in their opener they are very much vulnerable when under pressure
and I'm sure tomorrow they'll be under pressure, as all the teams that are
guests in the "bora" city of Ajdovscina.

Despite the fact Prasnikar is wining over the losses in his team, I'm sure they'll
be the team to hold control and trying to score first. Primorje is simply used to
play at their stadium under the somewhat strange circumstances and therefore
I'll be backing them with the imo reasonable -0.25 Asian.

Primorje with Zatkovic, Mlakar and at least Vidic are the better choice in
this game than a Kronaveter-less Drava.

Good luck this season Feri !

I'm always interesting in people who handicap their own home league, specially when it's not a very big one. How long have you been handicapping the Slovenian league and what's you record of previous seasons ?

Thanks Constanza and a good question to a "new" guy ;)

I've been following the Slovenian league very closely since 1991 (forming of
the country) and the old countries league even much longer.

The capping started with the betting possibilities and since 2 years I've also
been doing the odds for SLO1.

But mainly I'm into capping and providing info for people interested as I'm
aware there's not much info available for leagues like the SLO1.

I also wrote a season's preview and some additional info in BA (Bettingadvice),
but I'm not sure I can post a url here.

cheers :toast:
